Heat Wave Summer Bazaar at World Trade Center
I'm a fan of bargain or any thing that I can buy at a lower price, so when I heard that there will be a 3-day summer bazaar at the World Trade Center from , me with other bloggers trooped it to see what it will offer. Dubbed as the "Heat Wave Summer Bazaar," this is not your ordinary bazaar because first, they compiled all the merchants that sells fit-for-summer outfits, second, this is also the same venue where celebrity clothing will be auctioned off and they called it "Celebrity Ukay-Ukay, keep in mind that most actors/actresses only used this items just for a few times, so it feels and looks like brand new. Third, half of the proceed of this bazaar/auction will go to GMA Kapuso Foundation, so you don't just save a few penny but you also helped students to have a decent classroom for the next school year.
Let my photos take you a tour:
This is an aerial view of the bazaar, the far view is where they doing the live auction for celebrity items.
Here are the people waiting for their turn to bid :)
Here's LJ Reyes auctioning the Ogie Alcasid famous tee, "Pogi" the bid started at P400.00 but it closed to P1,800 as far as I remember.
We're fortunate to have a little chit chat with the La Divas namely Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos and Garcia- Mezzo. They're so pretty in person. They did two songs to the delight of their fans in the audience area.
The trio also donated some of their items to be auctioned off, but they're not sure if that day or it will be auctioned the next day. I discovered the girl group when they sang the Philippine national anthem for a Manny Pacquiao boxing match. I asked them what's in store for group this year they answered, "A new album, hopefully we can finished it this year."
LJ Reyes of the StarStruck fame didn't just hosted one part of the auction, she also gave two of her beloved shoes. "Actually yung isa dun, never ko pa nagamit and yung isa naman super special sa akin. Sana alagaan siya mabuti ng makakabili" she said. Watch out for her as a kontrabida in "Sisid," an upcoming afternoon drama at GMA-7.
This TOD'S bag previously owned by Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is the next one to be auctioned off. Actually there are die-hard Asia's Songbird fans who are patiently waiting for this bag, and they keep on asking on what time it will be auctioned.
His husband Ogie Alcasid and her is the the one who is pushing through this celebrity auction for the benefit of GMA Kapuso Foundation for it's Kapuso School Development project. The singer-songwriter is the one who approached the celebrities not just from GMA-7 but also from ABS-CBN to donate some of their stuffs for the said auction.
This women is the winning bidder on the polo of Mark Bautista, she answered "I just wanna helped the kids through Kapuso Foundation, that why I bought it" She said she will give the polo to his teenage son.
The four photos above is from the "Celebrity Ukay-Ukay," as you can see the items looks new and it even contain some branded ones, like the Nine West pair of high heels and the Randy Ortiz-made polo owned by Ogie Alcasid.
I asked the seller (photos of her above) of Gag Atak! Wacky Gifts how is response of the people to the bazzaar, she answered, "Okay naman, mas gusto naman mag-sell sa mga bazaar kase mas mabenta, compared sa malls. Kase here sa bazaar, people go here, ready to buy their stuffs na."
Their fastest selling items is their 'naughty looking figurines' which they also costumized. They also add a photo to the figurine ala picture frame, "This is mostly bought by couples," she detailed.
Outside, I saw a lady, which I think a 20 year old on what's her reaction to the bazaar. "Napanood ko lang sa TV, first time ko lang dito sa World Trade Center, dinayo pa namin ng cousin ko," she said. "Okay naman siya, madaming items, nakabili ako ng three blouses and one pair of shoes," she continues. "Masikip nga lang, sobrang daming tao, I wish na mas maaga sana kami." she concludes.
These are the other items that will be auctioned off, this time it's online. Specifically on ebay.ph. Before we left, we were told that the celebrity items that will be auctioned off in three days is SOLD in one day. Congrats GMA Kapuso Foundation, good intentions can really go a long way!
Sobrang dami ng tao noh!
