The 2010 SM Supermalls Eco Bags come in exclusive designs which feature the elements of earth, water, air and fire. The reusable shopping bag is made of 100% polypropylene hard-wearing, non-woven fabric and comes in four striking colors -- orange, light blue, cream beige, and royal blue.

Spearheaded by SM Cares' Environment Committee, the eco bag project aims to raise the consumers’ environmental consciousness to make positive changes that will have a lasting effect on our planet. It involves changing our shopping habits through the responsible use of reusable shopping bags.

Students from St. Paul College San Rafael, St. Mary's College Baliuag, Sanctuario de Sta. Maria School, PBC Sunbeam and The Little Northbend Campus were full support during the unveiling of the 2010 SM Supermalls Eco Bag Launch at SM Baliwag's Event Center.
SM Supermalls introduced its first line of green bags over one year ago to give shoppers an alternative to plastic grocery bags. Paintings by prominent Filipino artist Manuel Baldemor were printed on the bags and were an astounding success with close to 1.5 million sold. The popularity of the bags even spanned borders, and can still be spotted in many other countries around the world such as Italy, Spain, France, Greece, and in cities across the USA and Asia.

The hip new Ecobags can now be purchased for just P35.00 in all SM Supermalls nationwide. The polypropylene material is even durable enough to last up to two years of weekly use, so the youth can show off their support to save the earth anywhere they go. And while making a fashionable statement, they really will be helping out, as a portion of the proceeds from every bag purchased will be for the benefit of an environmental cause.

SM’s environmental endeavor will make stylish shopping an eco-friendly experience.
